JEE Main 2018, the most sought-after exam which helps Engineering and Architecture aspirants to get admission in the best colleges of India. From 2018, is all set to take place with a few changes as announced by CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education).

The most speculated thing about the exam was that like NEET, JEE Main 2018 would be a centralized exam for all engineering and architecture colleges of India. Though it has not been official, still so many private universities have decided to consider JEE Main scores for admission.
As per the recent announcements by CBSE, JEE Main exam in the offline mode is scheduled on April 8, 2018. The notifications for filling up the application forms are out, this is the apt time for students to clear all doubts regarding the exam and kick-start their preparation.

1- JEE Main Paper I and Paper II
As JEE Main consists of two papers, Engineering aspirants should opt for Paper I, while filling the application form. This paper will prove to be a qualifier for JEE Advanced.
Whereas, architecture aspirants need to choose Paper 2, when they fill JEE Main application form.
Also, a candidate is free to choose both the Paper I and Paper II. As per the preference, students can opt for one or both papers. As only after clearing this stage, they will attempt JEE Advanced.
2- Mode of Examination
JEE Main 2018 exam for Paper I will be conducted in both online as well as offline modes. But Paper II (till the time any official announcement arrives) is expected to be held in only offline, i.e pen and paper mode.
3- Aadhaar Card
All aspirants should mention their Aadhar card or unique identification number on their JEE Main 2018 application forms. If by any chance they fail to mention this very important detail, their application forms are liable to be rejected.
4- JEE Main 2018 Ranking
As we all know that to get admission in any IIT of India qualifying JEE Main as well as JEE Advanced is mandatory. But to gain admission in any National Institute of Technology, aspirants have to qualify both stages of JEE Main exam. Also, only after considering their percentile of 12th standard along with their JEE Main score they would be enrolled in any of the NIT.
5- Number of Seats Increased in JEE Advanced
JAB (Joint Admission Board) has decided that in JEE Advanced 2018 another 4,000 students will appear. They have further clarified that this decision is taken in the view to increase the number of eligible candidates from 2.20 Lakh to 2.24 Lakh. So, aspirants have got a reason to say cheese and start their preparation for qualifying JEE Main 2018. Candidates for JEE Advanced 2018 would be shortlisted based on the reservation criteria as decide by the Govt. of India
6- Admission through JEE Main 2018
In 2017, as per reports, the number of non-allocated seats in various colleges had grown to 121, even after 7 rounds of counseling organized. This year keeping this fact in mind authorities have issued the number that 23 IITs, 10,998 seats are supposed to be filled through this examination. In this view, they have decided to increase the number of eligible aspirants for JEE Advanced too.
