Cong blows poll bugle in Alwar

Alwar: Blowing the poll bugle, opposition Congress on Wednesday launched the ‘Mera Booth, Mera Gaurav’ programme in the bypoll-bound Alwar Parliamentary seat. Under the programme the party had appointed four party workers for each booth.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee president Sachin Pilot said that under the present BJP government, over 80 farmers have committed suicide in the state.

He said, while many other states have waved off the farmer’s agriculture loan, Raje government had not yet acted on this demand.

He alleged that this government is plagued by mega scams like Mining scam, PHED scam etc, in which many MLAs and Ministers are implicated. He also alleged that the controversial Criminal Laws (Amendment) Ordinance 2017 was brought in to protect such corrupt officials and ministers. Under the ordinance the court has to get prior permission of the government to order investigation against a corrupt official or public servant.

Pilot claimed that the under Congress protest the government was forced to refer the controversial bill to the select committee. He said the chief minister had brought in the Rajasthan Ministers Salaries (Amendment) Bill under which former chief ministers to get government accommodation for life as she does not want to vacate her present house after defeat in the 2018 assembly elections.
