Udaipur : In two separate incidents of day light loot and snatching reported from Pratapgarh and Dungarpur districts of Udaipur division, unidentified bikers escaped with 25 lakh rupees of new currency on Monday. These are reportedly first acts of robbery after the demonetisation move leading to currency tight situations everywhere. At both places, bank employees had been the victims who were carrying cash to other branches for varied reasons. Check points were laid at both places, however, police is clueless on the robberies.

In the first incident, Babulal Khatik, an accountant at the Central Cooperative Bank was carrying an amount of 15 lakh rupees from Pratapgarh to Nimbahera branch. He was driving alone in his car when few men signaled him to stop near Jakhamiya village on NH 113 under Chhoti Sadri police station. They were four men who came on two bikes and asked him to halt. On stopping, before the accountant could realize anything, one of the men took him on gun point while the others threw chilly powder in his eyes. The men escaped with the money bag and allegedly disappeared towards MP border, Khatik told the police. SHO Pradeep Bittu alerted the district police and check points were laid at every entry exits however, no clue could be found.
