The famous Pushkar fair concluded here today with over thousands of devotees taking bath in the holy lake on occasion of Kartik Poornima.
The annual five-day camel and livestock fair held in the town of Pushkar witnessed its 52 ghats of ‘sarovar’ packed by pilgrims. A cattle fair was also held in which thousands of cattle were brought for livestock trading.
To mark the closing ceremony of the fair, several cultural performances were organised by Mela committee and Tourism, Animal Husbandry and education departments, at the Mela Ground.
Various competitions, including horse race, camel race, matka race and tug of war, were held for visitors, including foreigners, during the fair.
Minister of State for Women and Child development Anita Bhadel, MP Sanwer Lal, Parliamentary Secretary Suresh Singh Rawat, Municipal Chairman Kamal Pathak and Ajmer Dairy Chairman Ramchandra Choudhry felicitated the winners.
