Retail inflation eases to 14-month low of 4.2% in October

NEW DELHI: The annual consumer price inflation eased to 4.20 per cent in October, its lowest level in 14 months, helped by smaller rises in food prices, government datashowed on Tuesday.


The reading matched the median consensus in a Reuters’ poll of economists. Retail priceswere up 4.39 per cent on year in September.


Food inflation was 3.32 per cent last month, lower than 3.96 per cent recorded in September.
