Police nab bike thief obsessed with purple colour

Udaipur : Udaipur police finally caught hold of a bike thief on wednesday who have been troubling the people for over six months now. Surprisingly, the theft who confessed to have lifted some 3 dozens of motorbikes and scooters , had committed all the theft alone unlike the usual gangs that work in a planned way.

Jagdish alias Bherulal Suthar had an obsession for purple colours and therefore most of the bikes and vehicles he stole was of the particular shade. The accused is a resident of Rishabhdev who has allegedly lifted more than 36 bikes and scooters from HiranMagri, Bhupalpura, Pratapnagar and Surajpole area. “ He has a bundle of duplicate keys and lifted bikes from the public parking slots randomly. He would leave the vehicle parked at public places for two days to escape arrest at check points and then sold it for meager amount to motor mechanics on some or the other pretext” Heramb Joshi, SHO Surajpole police station said. Some 30 vehicles have been recovered and the remaining too would be seized, the officer said.
