Udaipur : A 78-year-old man died on Monday allegedly after he suffered heart attack while standing in line for over two  hours to exchange now-defunct notes for new ones at Pratapnagar in Saintee town of Chittorgarh district. The banks and ATMs continued to be crowded by hassled people even 13 days after the demonetisation move.

Rajpal Singh a resident of Saintee  became unwell and complained uneasiness in the chest while standing at a queue outside the Punjab National bank in Pratapnagar around 4 pm. He had gone to the bank with his neighbor who immediately rushed him to the nearest hospital where the old man died. The incident triggered discontentment among the people who claimed the currency exchange management faulty and causing much inconvenience to people specially the elderly mass living alone and having no one in the family to get their notes exchanged from banks. “ It is really saddening to see number of old men and women having to stand in queues waiting for their turn to reach the cash windows. Banks should come out with some alternate measures for them” said Manakchand Goyal, a resident.
