Udaipur : Amid slogans of ‘Vande-Mataram’ and ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ the mortal remains of Kupwara martyr Harshit Bhadoria were consigned to flames on Monday evening at his native place in Theekariya near Banswara city with full military honors. Harshit had sustained bullet shots on his neck during firing by the terrorists at Keran sector in Kupwara district on the Indo-Pak borders on Friday evening.

ph-3-moxdham-14-novThe family members including his mom Jyoti, sister Divya were inconsolable as Rajkumar, Harshit’s father lit the funeral pyre.  Rich tributes were paid to the martyr who was also accorded a gun salute. A sea of people had gathered at the funeral ground to bid final adieu to the brave lad of the city who laid his life for the motherland.  Harshit’s mother who came to know of her son’s death only when his body arrived in the city, fainted many times. But later on the lady gathered herself and accepted people’s condolences.  Prem Singh Bajor , chairman of the Rajasthan Sainik Kalyan Board was among those to console the aggrieved family.

Bajor said the martyr’s family would be awarded 20 lakh rupees, a petrol pump and a gas agency. He also assured to extend assistance in getting Divya a job. Meanwhile one lakh rupees was given to the family by Maharshi Uttam Swami of Uttam Seva Dham Ashram, an NGO. Harshit’s family hails from Agra city and had settled in Banswara 25 years back. His father had faced much hardships to raise his children while working in a textile factory with little income.

shaheed-harshit-house-8The parents had pinned much hopes on their only son Harshit but his sudden death has shattered them. Earlier morning, as the body wrapped in a tricolor reached the city, a large number of people had gathered to pay their tributes to the brave soldier. Senior officers from the Army, police and civil administration were also present at the government school, Theekariya where his body was kept for the Antim Darshan.  Banswara MLA Dhansingh Ravat, Jeetmal Khant, BJP district president Manohar Trivedi were among others present.   Harshit’s tales of childhood dream of joining the army, his passion for playing football and exercising were discussed by friends and neighbours through out.ph-1-moxdham
